Methodology

Transparent waits, not fake precision.

Wait Time Radar does not pretend every line has a clean live API. It gives useful planning estimates with visible confidence labels.

Quick answer

How Wait Time Radar estimates wait ranges, confidence labels, and source quality for public lines.

Source-first Reviewed Jul 2026

Confidence labels

HighRecognized airport code or strong official-directory context.
MediumSearch text clearly names a category or nearby public places are found from open map data.
LowAddress-only or broad search where the category/source is inferred.

Formula

Estimated wait = category baseline multiplied by a time-of-day factor, then shown as a practical range rather than a fake exact number.

Sources

Airport and agency pages link to official sources where possible. Nearby place discovery can use OpenStreetMap/Nominatim/Overpass in the browser and is clearly attributed. Passport agency context points to Travel.State.gov. TSA, CBP, DMV, and passport conditions can change quickly.
